One day, while Daruk was searching for lunch, he saw a Hylian being attacked by Monsters.

In the past, Daruk claimed that Gorons only cared about relics that they could eat, which inspires him to search for Rock Roast for dinner. He recalled that the Sheikah dug up Divine Beast Vah Rudania from Death Mountain several years prior, and he was told by the Hylians that is was a weapon that needed someone to control it. In the next entry, Daruk recounts meeting a group of Hylians at the base of Death Mountain who spoke about Calamity Ganon. In his first entry, he writes about the Rock Roast he ate that day. ĭaruk wrote his thoughts down in a Book known as Daruk's Training Journal. There is also a rumor that Daruk would fan himself with the Boulder Breaker. This was done so the Gorons could more easily attain Rock Roast. According to Bludo, Daruk used the Boulder Breaker to carve the valley at Gortram Cliff in a single night. ĭaruk carried a Weapon known as the Boulder Breaker, which he could easily swing around despite its heft. Even as an adult, he still panics when he meets a Dog. This started when he stepped on the tail of one, which made it angry at him. When Daruk was a small child, Dogs would chase him around when they saw him. He possessed the ability known as Daruk's Protection, a red crystal polyhedric barrier that can deflect any attack or incoming damage to the user. He was described as being generally calm, but becomes wildly excitable in battle.

He was the pilot of the Divine Beast Vah Rudania. In life, Daruk was a fast friend to Link and it was the latter's strength and appetite that he demonstrated that won him over as the Goron Champion himself also had those traits.ĭaruk is also revealed to suffer from cynophobia (fear of dogs), much due to having been attacked by them often as a child and still fears them to this day, and he seems to be embarrassed about having this trait.ĭaruk was the Goron Champion, one of the appointed members tasked with piloting a Divine Beast in the fight against Calamity Ganon 100 years ago. In battle, he is loud and ferocious - although he does have a calm side to him as well during peaceful moments, such as telling the malevolent creature to 'open wide' as he fired his Divine Beast's laser at Hyrule Castle.

Courageous at heart, Daruk is extremely dedicated to defeating the Calamity Ganon and protecting his people.
